The Deal

We worked with young people in Stockton on Tees on a substance misuse awareness campaign.

How it worked

Over 10 weeks we worked with young people who have experience of substance abuse to develop a campaign which culminated in an interactive play, incorporating video pieces shot by the group of participants.

The group were handed the reigns with the direction of the play and the films they were shown how to use the camera and given skills which they can take into their everyday lives.

Did it end up on the Cutting Room Floor?

The interactive theatre play was showcased at Stockton ARC, an amazing multi-purpose arts venue, to school and community groups during October 2009 and helped deliver PSHEE to years 8 and 9.

Why was it great?

The performances were amazing and the ideas from the participants were very strong.
