The Deal

Out of the Box was commissioned by Northern Film and Media as part of their Capture '09 scheme, helping new documentary makers take an interesting look at North East lives.

How it worked

Over four months Charly worked closely with Michael to produce the three minute short film. Michael is a young man who uses a voice-box to communicate but doesn't let that hold him back from his dream of making his own films.

Did it end up on the Cutting Room Floor?

Out of the Box can currently be viewed on the Community Channel, it was shown on Middlesborough Live Site and won the International Contribution to Assistive Technology Industry Awards (ATIA).

Why was it great?

This project was Charly Conquest's debut as a director.
