Engage Media and East End Health get Lottery grant for healthy eating film project
Posted on 21st October 2009 by Jill Hargreaves

We have been awarded a grant from Awards for All from the BIG Lottery Fund to undertake an exciting project in schools around the subject of healthy eating.
We are teaming up with local charity East End Health to help young people in the east end of Newcastle to make their own documentaries throughout the academic year 2009/2010.
The project wheels began to spin in motion earlier this year when we met with Kate Snowball, Project Development Worker from East End Health . Previously the charity had been concerned with working within primary schools giving young pupils the chance to run projects which looked at healthy eating and to give control over the foods available on their school menu. East End Health wanted to roll this out to an older audience of secondary school pupils and so together, we developed the idea for a DVD which not only taught young people how to make film but would also document the process of the East End Health project providing a training tool for the future.
We are all very excited to see the products of what is sure to be an exciting project.

We are through to the final of the People's Millions and will be on ITV!
